Wetlands International Oceania works in the Pacific Islands to promote the strong interrelationships between wetlands, and human health and food security.

In our work we bring health and environment sectors – such as development organisations and government ministries - together for joint planning and implementation in order to help reconcile their food security and biodiversity conservation objectives.
 

Research on ecological integrity vs. human health & food security

Applied research is producing case studies on the interrelationships between ecological integrity and human health in selected major wetland types of the Pacific Islands region. We do this by answering key questions on these relationships.
